Survey Rationale:


From out literature, we’ve learned that one of the biggest problems facing the aquaponic system is that it might be a prohibitively expensive and, most of all, time-consuming endeavor if not understood properly; one that is far more time-consuming for individuals that planting a simple outdoor garden.  However, we think that this technology could potentially revolutionize how both farmers and individuals grow food, allowing for a new kind of self-sufficiency.  Therefore, what we are most interested in knowing about is the type of person who might use an aquaponic system; whether or not they feel it is a worthwhile and cost-effective project to take on; what might make them change their minds if they don’t think so.  Ultimately, we of Fish-Ish think that knowing the answers to these questions is the key to knowing how to develop and market an aquaponic system that is appealing to the individual consumer.
